Formed in the dark heart of Bishop Auckland, Dead Skin Project is a studio-based punk rock solo project that blends horror, humour, and raw rebellion into every riff. Conceived as both a musical outlet and a visual storytelling experiment, the band writes, records, and produces their own songs and videos entirely in-house — capturing the chaotic, DIY spirit of classic punk while pushing it into modern cinematic territory.

At the centre of the creative world is the band’s grotesque mascot and anti-hero: Dead Skin — a stick-thin figure with a jack-o’-lantern head and a wicked grin carved straight from nightmares. Brought to life through the songs and videos, Dead Skin is part serial killer, part social satire — a symbol of everything rotten, ridiculous, and rebellious in the human condition.

Musically, Dead Skin Project channels the ferocity of late-70s punk and the dark humour of cult horror. Lyrically, they dance between macabre storytelling and biting social commentary, delivering tracks that are as fun as they are fearsome. Each release pairs snarling guitars with cinematic visuals, turning every song into a chapter in the twisted Dead Skin saga.

Dead Skin Project isn’t a band.
It’s a horror story set to three chords and a sneer.
